How does Bridging Hope Make a Difference?
Sen Nguyen
After escaping from Viet Nam as a young woman, Sr. Sen Nguyen has spent most of her life adjusting to unfamiliar and uncomfortable situations. Sr. Sen’s talents lie in artistic venues and her passion for ministry is to help disabled, ill, and disadvantaged women and children in her home country. In 2003, Sr. Sen began an ambitious project to merge her artistic talent and her ministry, which also required her to immerse herself in the unfamiliar and daunting worlds of commercial business and non-profit fundraising. She founded Provide-n-ce, an international women’s cooperative store and art gallery, where artists who live in Viet Nam and in the Denver area can display their work for sale. Provide-n-ce also sells hand crafts that are created by women polio victims in Vietnam. In addition to helping these Vietnamese women earn their own income through the commercial outlet of her store, Sr. Sen has also formed a non-profit charitable organization called Bridging Hope which raises funds to support programs and projects in Viet Nam that assist polio victims and is also working with the Archdiocese of Saigon to provide assistance to victims of HIV/AIDS.
